Pretty Boy's Last Stand?

It's hard to believe that a man in his prime and being in the pinnacle of his career could easily make a decision to quit a profession that he has reigned supremely dominant in. It's even harder to believe that even after all the scrutiny, Floyd Mayweather Jr. prevailed over the Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya and there still may be some that don't believe. Round after Round Mayweather was in total control of the outcome, staying poised and showing no remnants of the wild punches that were thrown by De La Hoya.
If this was your first time watching a boxing match and you were disappointed no one was knocked out, I'll apologize, because due to the history of the two boxers and knowing their fighting styles, this was EXACTLY the fight that should have been expected. Floyd Mayweather Jr, an accurate puncher, picking his shots, one by one and blocking De La Hoya's flurries of punches, many of which weren't landing where they were being thrown. Neither fighter looked hurt by the end of the 12th and the Rounds went so fast that it looked as if they could have went 15 rounds, De La Hoya showed he could give a younger, quicker, Mayweather a run but was unable to break down Mayweather's defense. His best & most effective punches was his Jab that he used for 2 rounds which he abandoned and was later qouted:
"It just didn't seem like one of those Jab nights..."- De La Hoya
The Magnitude of this fight will leave a lasting bitter taste for some but for others this is the stamp of approval, the legendary battle of the champion vs. contender, the Pound for Pound Best boxer against a World boxing Mogul. It's no question that Mayweather won this fight, but after tonight, saying that we won't see either boxer in the ring again would be a hard assumption.
"Look at the punch stats and then you can see I'm the new champion," Mayweather said. "I was having fun in there. It was a hell of a fight. I told the fans I would give them a hell of a fight, and that's what I did. Me and [uncle and trainer] Roger [Mayweather] did it. It was easy work for me. He was rough and tough, but he couldn't beat the best."- Mayweather
According to CompuBox statistics, Mayweather landed 207 of 481 punches (43 percent). De La Hoya landed 122 of 587 (21 percent).
Comments made after the fight by Floyd Mayweather Jr. are still that he is as of now RETIRED but he said that if the fans demand a rematch there maybe talk of that in the future.

UGH!! I DON'T EVEN WANT TO READ THIS!! I AM SO UPSET BECAUSE FOR US TO ORDER THE FIGHT FOR $55, I SHOULD HAVE SEEN SOMEONE GET KO'D. MAYWEATHER IS A REALLY GOOD FIGHTER AS FAR AS SPEED AND ACCURACY, BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY POWER AT ALL. I HAVE BEEN WATCHING DE LA HOYA FOR MANY, MANY, MANY YEARS. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT HE IS A BLEEDER. I MEAN, SINCE DAY 1 THAT DE LA HOYA HAS BEEN FIGHTING 90% OF THE TIME HE GETS BRUISED AND/OR BLEEDS. MAYWEATHER TALKED ALL THAT SHIT AND COULDN'T EVEN MAKE HIM DRAW BLOOD. I THINK THAT IS WHAT SHOCKED HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE. WE WERE LOOKING FOR A "REAL" RUMBLE, BUT ALL WE GOT WAS BULL. NOW, DON'T GET ME WRONG, MAYWEATHER IS THE "MAN". I PERSONALLY LIKE HIM. BUT EVERY TIME HE IS ABOUT TO FIGHT SOMEONE, HE TALKS TOO MUCH *ISH. RIGHT? WHAT HAD ME CRACKING UP, WAS THE FACT THAT DE LA HOYA STARTED TO "WINDMILL" HIM. I THOUGHT THAT I WAS WATCHING A CHIC'S FIGHT. LOL! I HAVE NEVER SEEN DE LA HOYA GO CRAZY LIKE THAT TO THE POINT WHERE HE WAS THROWING CRAZY FEMININE BLOWS. IT SEEMED TO ME THAT OSCAR WAS TRYING EVERYTHING HE COULD TO KNOCK HIM OUT. LOL! WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A RE-MATCH AND I THINK THAT EVERYONE ELSE WANTS THE SAME THING.
